The Orchestra must retain its prestigious status amidst the intense competition at the pinnacle of the music world. In 2023, on the initiative of Gewandhaus General Director, Prof. Andreas Schulz, the <strong>Stiftung Zukunft Gewandhaus zu Leipzig<\/strong> was established as a modern-day, long-term pillar of the Gewandhausorchester&#8217;s financial architecture. On 7 December 2023, the foundation was legally recognised by the Foundation Authority of the State Directorate of Saxony.<\/p>\n<p>Since its establishment, the <strong>Stiftung Zukunft Gewandhaus zu Leipzig<\/strong> has made a significant contribution to the preservation and development of the Gewandhaus and its Gewandhausorchester.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"HistoryThe Gewandhausorchester Leipzig, unique in the civic foundations of its inception, was founded in 1743 by 16 music-loving Leipzig merchants.
